Rules
1.
Game/Practice
Time- Coaches
and players are to be fully dressed 15 minutes before game or practice.
2.
Locker Room-
It is the
coach’s responsibility to inspect the locker room before and after each
practice and game. Coaches are to report locker room damages to the rink
manager immediately. It is also the coach’s responsibility to ensure the
players respect the locker room and its contents.
3.
Equal Playing
Time- Every
effort must be made to give all players equal playing time during the
season.
4.
Goalie
Scheduling- In
the event there are more goalies than teams, every effort will be made to
give each goalie equal playing time during the season.
5.
Fighting-
Fighting will not be tolerated at any time or at any level. Players who
fight will be subject to both club and league penalties.
6.
Inappropriate
Behavior or Language-
Inappropriate behavior or language will not be tolerated at any time or at
any level. Coaches, parents, or players who behave inappropriately or use
inappropriate language will be subject to disciplinary action from the club
and league.
7.
Equipment-
Failure to have the appropriate equipment will prevent a player from skating
on the ice. The club believes that all protection is necessary, including
mouth guards and throat protection. It is the coaches’ responsibility to
make sure all players have the appropriate equipment before practice and
games.
8.
Shaking Hands-
All players will
shake hands with the opposing team and return to their bench at the end of
the game.
9.
Chain of Command-
Any questions or concerns involving a particular team should not be brought
to the attention of the coach until 24 hours after a game or practice. The
coach must handle the situation promptly after notification. The parent can
also notify the Secretary of the Board to have the situation brought before
the Board.
10.
Disciplinary
Action-
Springfield coaches, parents, and players are subject to disciplinary action
ranging form verbal warnings, game suspension, or dismissal from the Club
and League depending on the severity of the violation. An accumulation of
minor violations may subject a player to more sever discipline. Minor
violations include, but are not limited to:
· Disrespect for
coaches, teammates, parents, referees, and spectators
· General unsportsmanlike conduct
· Inappropriate behavior or language
11.
Dismissal from
Club- A coach,
parent or player will be subject to dismissal from the club and required to
appear before the Board if in the opinion of the board, the coach, parent,
or player adversely affects the team or club. The Board’s actions include,
but are not limited to, suspension from practice(s) and/or game(s) and
dismissal from the Club and/ or League.
12.
League
Disciplinary Action-
All disciplinary actions
imposed by a League will be subject to review by the Board. Any coach,
parent, or player who receives a suspension form a game or rink shall be
required to appear before the Board.
13.
Official
Springfield Hockey Club Apparel-
Anytime a member of the Springfield Ice Hockey club is wearing official
Springfield Ice Hockey apparel, they have the ability to positively or
adversely affect the reputation of our organization. Therefore, anytime a
member puts on his/her Springfield Club jersey/jacket he/she must adhere to
the clubs rules as is required under normal league play. The discipline
policy will be in effect anytime the Springfield Ice Hockey Jersey is worn.
14.
Financial
Refunds- All
request for refunds must be submitted to the Board in writing and signed by
the parent(s)/guardian(s). The Board will review each request individually
and make a decision. The decisions will be communicated in writing to the
parent(s)/guardian(s)
All decisions by the Board
are final.
